About Us
BJ’s Garage was founded and opened by Brian and Jean Turner on the 1st November 1980. Jean made the first sale of a car horn at £4!
In 1990 their sixteen year old son Paul was introduced to the family business as a vehicle dismantler and as the business grew so did Paul’s knowledge in the motor vehicle industry. He quickly progressed from dismantling vehicles to diagnosing faults and repairing them.
BJ’s garage repairs became busier when they started MOT testing in the early 1990s, making Paul a nominated tester in 1994.
Brian and Jean retired in 2002 and Paul took over the business, growing his customer base by concentrating on high quality service, repairs and MOT’s.
The family has been in the motor industry for generations, pictured here is Paul’s Grandfather Horace Turner completing the first MOT at George & Matthews Ltd of Wolverhampton with his assistant Bert Chamberlain.

Great service as usual from Paul and his team at BJ's. Resolved intermittent 'check engine' warning light issue having run diagnostics, carried out service and MOT, all at a good price. Have used this garage for a number of years and have always been impressed by professionalism and knowledge. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

We called in for advice concerning an issue with the automatic gearbox and a worrying dashboard warning sign. The mechanic listened patiently whilst I explained the problem. He was able to identify the likely cause, and explain how the problem had self-corrected and he didn't charge. We were then able to continue with our holiday reassured.
