BJ’s Garage was founded and opened by Brian and Jean Turner on the
1st November 1980. Jean made the first sale of a car horn at £4!
In 1990 their sixteen year old son Paul was introduced to the family business
as a vehicle dismantler and as the business grew so did Paul’s knowledge
in the motor vehicle industry. He quickly progressed from dismantling vehicles
to diagnosing faults and repairing them.
BJ’s garage repairs became busier when they started MOT testing in the early 1990s,
making Paul a nominated tester in 1994.
Brian and Jean retired in 2002 and Paul took over the business, growing his customer
base by concentrating on high quality service, repairs and MOT’s.
The family has been in the motor industry for generations, pictured here is Paul’s Grandfather Horace Turner completing the first MOT at George & Matthews Ltd of Wolverhampton with his assistant Bert Chamberlain.
